A Costly Problem

Paper checks: slow, easily lost, not guaranteed, not eco-friendly, and millions sent every year. Enter a better way: UnCheck.

A New Way to Check

Working with banks, the concept was that BillGO would intercept the paper check file and contact the receivers of checks, urging them to create an UnCheck account.

By doing so, BillGO would then convert their check payments to virtual cards that merchants could run instead of waiting for paper checks in the mail, all from a simple-to-use web portal. I was tasked with designing this portal, as well as the overall user experience.

Once a user signed up for UnCheck, they would be notified each day of any payments that came in that needed to be run.

The merchant would then be able to view their payment as a virtual card. By simply running a card number, the merchant received their funds faster, more securely, and the end payer’s account was rectified more quickly.

UnCheck did something rare: it made all parties involves better. Customers loved the easy of viewing all of their payments each day, and banks saved money on printing paper.

And the environment was better off!

Because of UnCheck’s popularity, Mastercard approached BillGO to create a white-labeled version of the product for their customers. I was tasked with designing this branded version of UnCheck.
